What do you do for UCM?
I am the Executive Assistant of the Senior Pastor. Aside from assisting Pastor Steve, my duties and responsibilities include tasks for Council. Having come from decades of corporate experience, the uniqueness that is UCM continues to inspire me everyday. It is a happy blend of both simple, but complicated work tasks and relationships. I never imagined working in a church, but God has the BEST plans.
How did you come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior?
I was born into a Christian family, and have been surrounded by relatives who are church workers. At an early age, I was exposed to Sunday School and became a Sunday School teacher myself. I came to know the Lord at a youth camp in Tagaytay when I was 13 years old. Since then, it has been a joyful walk with Jesus. Indeed, Great is His Faithfulness!
What is your life verse?
1Peter 4:8 ”Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”
Hebrews 13:5 ”Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.””
What do you love about serving Jesus at UCM?
Serving Jesus at UCM is an opportunity to get to know Him more through His people in and out of the church, a constant reminder how blessed I am despite the many challenges and struggles in this life. How could you not love a church that offers many avenues of Christian service? One’s gifting will definitely find its match here at UCM, and you will grow, grow, grow. Serving at UCM is a testimony of how much Jesus loves me and this I know.
When I’m not working, you can find me cooking and eating; I love to do both! I enjoy checking out new restaurants and coffee shops together with a couple of girlfriends with whom I’ve been friends for decades. I watch a lot of cooking shows, too, and keep a stock of food magazines. I do check out on entertainment news every now and then. Or, you can find me simply lazying around on a weekend.
