Christian Development Organizations

Missions & Benevolence Partner Organizations

The Missions and Benevolence Committee partners with various Christian Development Organizations (CDOs) and gives our church community an opportunity to put faith into practice and share Christ’s love and compassion.

There are several ways you can get involved. All it takes is a willing heart, time, and a commitment to serve. Please find below a list of our partner organizations for volunteer opportunities:

ACTION Second Mile Ministries is a Christian discipleship center that seeks to equip and empower the poor and marginalized through holistic discipleship. The Second Mile ministries are:

Foundation in Christian Discipleship (FCD) – In partnership with local churches, students from poor and disadvantaged backgrounds are discipled and learn a vocational skill during this four-month program.

Pastoral and Leadership Training (PLT) – Untrained pastors and church workers are provided online theological and ministry education. Most students have limited access to Bible and ministry training or cannot afford it. The goal is to equip pastors and church workers with the training they need for effective ministry.

Campus and Retreat Center (CRC) – Churches and ministry groups may rent the facilities for camps, conferences, and retreats. Rates are affordable to make it more accessible to smaller churches and ministry organizations for their discipleship ministries.

Their goal is to transform and equip those they serve to live as faithful followers of Christ through training, mentoring, and relationship. The organization goes the second mile to change lives and situations (Matthew 5:41).

ACMI’s mission is focused on fulfilling the Great Commission - TO GO and MAKE DISCIPLES. ACMI shares the Gospel to all people who are willing to hear it. Their Gospel sharing methodologies are varied and flexible; and include person-to-person, small group witnessing, mass evangelism and/or crusades; in classroom settings during Christmas and Easter; at wakes and during free medical clinics.

For ACMI members, evangelism is ingrained in their lifestyle. Responders who are
available for Bible studies are trained until they too become committed and equipped disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. New believers are followed up in Bible studies, one-on-one meetings, when possible. Ultimately, ACMI wants to enable a larger generation of believers.

BUGKALOT BIBLE CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP OF THE PHILIPPINES, INC. (BBCF)

The BBCF are tribal Christians from the mountains of Nueva Vizcaya, who are zealous about sharing the Gospel to their fellow-indigenous people groups. Into the 1970s, the Bugkalot/Ilongot tribe was known as the headhunters of the Sierra Madre. BBCF now works to guide the tribal churches into further Kingdom work through training up teachers, leaders and missionaries; as well as coordinating the missions work of its
members. Currently, BBCF has a live-in, modular style Bible school to train up leaders, as well as for hosting other seminars to help our churches be effective in missions work.

In addition to the numerous local church plants and outreach endeavors, BBCF sends out cross-cultural missionaries. The largest focus for now are the different unreached tribal groups in the Bicol region. It is in this work that UCM has partnered with BBCF these many years, and by God’s grace, there are now churches in 4 Agta languages. BBCF will open work amongst the Manide (Kabihog) tribe of Camarines Norte. The Manide still do not have evangelical churches. In partnership with Mangyan Tribal Church Association SPIEM-MTCA, BBCF has started a Bible school for the Bicol tribals of Cagmaslog, Buhi, Camarines Sur.

In 1988, the Kanlungan Sa Er-Ma Ministry, Inc. was established in response to the growing menace of abuse and exploitation of street children in Metro Manila. “Kanlungan” means sanctuary or refuge, while “ER-MA” stands for Ermita-Malate, the former red light district of the capital where Kanlungan started its work. Samaritana reaches out to support, train and accompany adult women survivors of prostitution and human trafficking for sexual exploitation. It provides a safe community and holistic activities and interventions for these women and offers learning opportunities for their children. It also trains and mentors leaders among these women who in turn, assist in reaching out to others like them.

Samaritana searches and implements strategies to stop the proliferation of commercial sexual exploitation and prostitution particularly focusing on the Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC), recognizing that child sexual abuse often lead many young people to prostitution and exploitation as adults. Thus, Samaritana is steadfast to being a part of the solution to child abuse and exploitation.

Samaritana partners with various women’s cooperatives, to help educate its members in the fundamentals of financial literacy and introduce better ways to attain economic stability that will give them pride, dignity and self-worth.

VOICE (VALUES ORIENTATION IN CLASSROOM/COMMUNITY EDUCATION)
(VOICE) PHILIPPINES, INC.

VOICE (Values Orientation In Classroom/Community Orientation) is a “Servant to the Churches”, as the churches serve the Lord Jesus. It provides the legal and constitutional vehicle so the churches can accomplish the Great Commission using the programs and resources of the government’s values initiatives. VOICE’s values programs and resources enable the Body of Christ to teach God-based values in public schools, colleges and universities, communities and in government agencies because our 1987 Constitution now allows it. This is a unique paradigm for ministry in the Philippines which VOICE has implemented for 20 years now. Collaboration between the government and the faith community is beyond reproach because presenting God and His Kingdom principles in the public square is not violative of the Philippine Constitution.

HANDS AND FEET GOOD NEWS FOUNDATION, INC. (HGF)

HGF shares the Gospel of Jesus Christ to children through Bible studies to reveal the
attitudes and attributes of a Christ-like frame of mind that children should emulate and adopt in their day-to-day interactions. HGF believes that Bible studies, leadership training and church planting/services help in developing a Christ-like personality that helps the children in sharing to other people how God has positively impacted their lives. As a result, children and parents draw closer to God through HGF activities and programs that develop their gifts and talents to enable them to share the Gospel of God. In these activities, children are introduced to stories and teachings from the Bible that show God’s miracles and promises for those who love Him and follow His teachings.

HGF’s feeding programs bring physical nourishment to the children with the introduction of healthy food and meals that are served by the volunteer youth and parents.

HGF promotes a nurturing environment that strengthens the camaraderie of the children and youth in the community.
