Discipleship

Purpose

The Great Commission of Jesus is the primary mission of UCM, to "make disciples of all nations" (Matt 28:19-20) who become more like Christ (Rom 8:29; 2 Cor 3:18; Eph 4:13). UCM accomplishes its mission of discipleship by providing the Church family with a Spiritual Journey pathway that offers Christian growth opportunities. We would love to see more people of UCM who are maturing, ministering, and multiplying disciple-makers.

The following areas are under the purview of the Discipleship Ministry.

KINGDOM FELLOWSHIP

Kingdom Fellowship creates a place where women and men can enter into a broad discipleship experience and provides an introduction to what a discipleship community can be. People can participate as they are able without the pressure of a weekly commitment, hopefully kindling a desire for more through the Kingdom Men and Kingdom Women Fellowship Groups:

Through regular gatherings and Scripture-centered discussions, The Kingdom Men (KM) Fellowship provides “sharpening” and encouragement for men and their common journey of life and faith, which often leads to genuine friendships and service to others. All men of UCM and their guests are welcome to participate.

SATURDAY (1st of each month) / 10:00am to 12noon / UCM Fellowship Hall

SATURDAY (all others) / 10:00am to 11:30am / VIA ZOOM

To join, please contact ynang.caliza@unionchurch.ph

The Kingdom Women (KW) Fellowship seeks to gather women of all ages to encourage their faith through the Word of God, enriching discussions, and prayer, so they can shine Jesus' light in their families, communities, and world.

SATURDAYS (2nd of each month) / 9am to 11am / UCM Fellowship Hall

To join, please register at KW Reg Now or contact ynang.caliza@unionchurch.ph

SMall Discipleship Groups

As people's desire for a discipleship community grows, they will be encouraged to join a discipleship group.

In Small Discipleship Groups (SDGs), adults in their spiritual journey learn to live and love just as Christ did. This ministry invites the disciple to explore the Word in relation to their own life experience. These groups kindle deep relationships that allow individuals to let their guard down, share their struggles and victories, and pray with and for one another. Transformation happens as a group’s camaraderie develops and flourishes. Through active, committed participation in an SDG, group members are not only fortified in their faith but impassioned to ministry — sharing the love of Christ with people from all nations, welcoming them into the church.

One on One Discipleship

Discipleship is imparting God's truth through relationships.  The mentor-mentee relationship could become a lifelong one that allows for mutual growth, burden-bearing, and accountability. The goal is to produce maturing, ministering, and multiplying disciple-makers.

Adult Christian Education

Adult Christian Education (ACE) is a place where a believer's personal calling and ministry can be discovered and encouraged. It aims to deepen knowledge of and love for the Scriptures and to grow disciples through the teaching of God’s Word in an interactive learning environment where all can share and grow in their walk with the Lord.

Disciples are invited to explore the Word in relation to their own life experience. Through classes and seminars, disciples learn to become aware of Biblical context, keys to sound Biblical interpretation, and how to apply the Scriptures to their contexts. Disciples develop to become sharers and even teachers of the Scriptures.

The regular ways to participate in ACE are communicated here on the website and via the other church information channels.

Prayer Ministry

The Prayer Ministry supports the various ways that disciples mature through praying with and for others — toward the vision of a house of prayer for all nations.
