Christians are the only Bible or church some people will ever really encounter.
The Personal Evangelism Workshop (PEW) is a four-session, intensive, practical theology certification course that aims to equip UCMers with the know-how to share the good news of salvation with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15). It uses the simple, classic tool for sharing the core message of faith, the Bridge Illustration:

After the full training, each participant shall be able to do the following:
- Share the gospel clearly to a PEW facilitator using the Bridge Illustration.
- Move from hesitancy to readiness and even joy in sharing the good news.
- Train another person to be prepared to share the reason for the hope they have.
Instructional includes a brief teaching time, demonstration, written fill-in-the-blank testing, practice time, and Q&A.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Humility - as a participant, realizing you may have a lack of or mis-understanding about the essential content of the gospel but desire to be equipped to share the gospel in its full simplicity, succinctly;
- Attend no fewer than 3 of the 4 Sunday sessions;
- Do all memory work;
- Take all written tests and participate in the coached practice times;
- Share the gospel using the Bridge Illustration.
Important Pre-work Assignment: God's Story - The 9 Bridge Illustration Verses

- You should be able to write down and recite all 9 verses (reference and text) from memory on Day 1 of the Workshop.
